I have learned a great deal as your municipal councillor, and I believe it is my civic duty to apply what I have learned, with personal insight and commitment for all members of this community. I will continue to support our Council's vision and its core values: sharing and caring, environmental sustainability, and emergency preparedness. Bylaws will be more broadly and fairly enforced to protect the safety and well-being of residents, so everyone can have quiet enjoyment of their homes.

As Mayor, I will work collaboratively with Council and insist on open discussion and transparency, with the greatest respect for our staff, so we can rise to meet the municipal and regional challenges before us.

We need seniors' housing, both private and public, and more truly affordable housing for singles and families. We need better health care facilities and services. We need to work with BC Ferries to ensure the needs of residents come first. We all share concerns about the environment, forest fires, and drought. We must implement land use and policy changes that build resilience and protect our livelihoods and financial security. Civil unrest will be better managed, and I will continue to hold senior levels of government, including our MLA and MP, accountable for doing their part on our behalf.

My professional background is in architecture and planning, with a specialty in environmental and sustainable design and policy. I am passionately committed to the District of Sechelt and can make strong, timely contributions as your next Mayor. I will deliver good governance, direct community and neighbourhood planning, and balanced social and environmental development. Water and sewer infrastructure will prioritize the needs of residents. An updated Official Community Plan will ensure this — and as Mayor, I will be directly involved in making it happen.
